Laughter Well Being Sessions
Laughter is the best medicine for the mind and body
When we laugh our brains release Endorphins. Endorphins are our bodies feel good hormones. Children are full of them but as we get older we tend to lose our natural ability to experience happiness. As adults we feel alot of stress and tension resulting in our bodies producing more Adrenalin and Cortisol, the hormones of anxiety and tension.
Endorphins help to improve oxygen flow to the brain, boost the immune system and create a sense of well-being. Too much stress in our lives block the flow of endorphins and can lead to poor health and unhappiness.
When we communicate with people we are being influenced by an exchange of vibrations and energies. This energy exchange is translated into thoughts, feelings and emotions. To be around some people is a very uplifting, energising experience and we can feel a deep connection with them. Others we cannot wait to get away from and the exchange of vibration and energy is much lower, they may be going through a difficult time in their life or have had some bad news.
Raising your Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
To learn how to raise our EQ, we need to engage the emotional parts of the brain in ways that connect us to other people. Laughter is one of the ways in which to achieve this. Experiencing and practicing laughter in your everyday life will help to
- reduce stress
- connect with your emotions
- improve nonverbal communications (eye contact, facial expression, posture, tone of voice, touch)
- improves mood
- brings the nervous system into balance
- improve creativity
- help to let go of inhibitions
- promotes group bonding
Our mental and emotional health has been and will continue to be shaped by our experiences. Whatever internal or external factors have shaped your life, it's never too late to make changes that will enhance your psychological well-being.
What to expect during a Laughter Well-Being session
The focus is on learning to laugh more and we achieve this using relaxation exercises, visualisation, playing silly games, movement and sound.
Our aim is to help you to have an enjoyable experience that will create a positive connection within yourself and the benefits of this will continue long after you have left the session.
Not everyone will respond in the same way, just as no two people are the same, although everyone will learn simple techniques that they can take home with them to enhance the happiness in their life.
