Indian Head and Shoulder Massage

What is an Indian Head Massage?

An Indian Head and Shoulder Massage can be carried out anywhere there is access to an upright armless chair.

Each treatment lasts around 30 minutes.

Treatment involves a range of specially devised movements to the areas of the shoulders, neck, head and face carried out by a therapist who is trained in this form of massage.

At the end of the massage, the client will have their three higher charkras balanced leaving them rejuvenated, relaxed and calm.

The History of Indian Head Massage

This form of massage featured in the earliest Ayurvedic texts dates back nearly 4000 years.

Indian Head Massage was originally developed by the women as part of their grooming routine. It also became part of the barbers treatment offering "champi" (head massage) as part of their treatment.

The development of this form of massage has been brought to our country by Narendra Mehta who has passed the skills on by running courses in Indian Head Massage
