After medical qualification Zarif has worked as House and Senior House Officer in A & E, Paediatrics, Maternity, Chest Units and general medicine; as well as being employed as a diagnostician in general medicine wards and general practice.

She switched into Naturopathy and Nutrition by attaining an MSc in Nutritional Medicine followed by clinical attachments. Zarif's thesis and subsequent courses have given her specialisation in weight control as well as immunity and digestive disorders beyond the normal range of problems a Naturopathic Nutrition consults.
