Paediatric
(Childrens) Osteopathy
|
|
All
mothers and new-born babies should have an osteopathic check-up
soon after the birth Osteopaths learn very gentle techniques
that quickly work on the very malleable and responsive tissues
of babies and children. This responsiveness to treatment usually
means that a small amount of gentle treatment produces a rapid
response and improvement.
The
birth is very stressful and physically taxing on the baby,
the bones of the skull for instance can often benefit from
gentle easing back to their normal shape, which can relieve
a variety of problems both (constant screaming, irritability,
feeding difficulties, not sleeping, growth retardation, development
problems and so on) at that age that may often may be attributed
to other problems such as colic or fretfulness, and prevent
problems later in life from behavioural problems to migraines.
Young
Children
Children
of all ages can suffer from a bewildering range of problems
and ailments for some of which - asthma, eczema and 'growing
pains' hyperactivity, learning difficulties, bedwetting, development
and social problems, for example- there often seems to be
little help available.
